About us

We started a movement. Not a business.

Challenging the status quo of workplace health by putting clinical excellence and human connection at the forefront of every interaction. We are the bridge between reactive management and proactive wellness.

Our Story

The Story Behind the Movement

In 2012, two friends sat down and had a conversation they couldn’t shake. The same frustration kept surfacing: workplace health in Australia was broken. Reactive. Transactional. Disconnected from what actually drives human performance.

They didn’t write a business plan. They made a decision. Every workplace should be a hub for health. That belief became Employ Health. And fourteen years later, it still drives every decision we make.

What We Believe

Most companies say people are their greatest asset. Very few act like it.

We believe health is the only vehicle capable of improving culture and performance at the same time — and doing it in a way that genuinely changes lives.

We believe reactive healthcare isn't healthcare.

Reactive healthcare manages consequences, not causes. Absenteeism, claims and lost productivity aren’t inevitable—they’re the cost of underinvestment.

We believe meaningful change requires full commitment.

Lasting results don’t come from quick fixes. They require genuine commitment—from your business, and from ours.

We believe investing in people is the highest investment you can make.

Investing in people’s health means investing in stronger teams, better performance, and a more resilient future.

We believe proactive health is an investment, not a cost.

Prevention drives better performance, lower absenteeism, reduced compensation costs, and workplaces where people choose to stay.

We believe extraordinary things happen when people share the same vision.

Shared purpose shapes our team, our partnerships, and the way we deliver our work—every single day.

Here is where we are different

Employ Health is the only workplace health business in Australia and New Zealand that exclusively uses full-time employees.

Not contractors. Not part-timers filling a roster gap. Not practitioners using your workplace as a side hustle between other commitments.

Every single person we place with your business is a full-time member of the Employ Health tribe. Fully committed to your outcomes. Invested in your culture. Accountable to a standard most of this industry doesn’t reach for.

This is not a staffing decision. It is a philosophical one.

You cannot build a health culture from the outside. You cannot drive meaningful change on a casual contract. Our full-time model is how we ensure that the person walking your floor on Monday was at our team trail run on Saturday — and will be there next year too.

This is how we protect the quality of what you receive. And it is how we protect the people who deliver it.

The Tribe

This is not a workplace. It is a movement

Our tribe works together, runs together, and yes — walks the Kokoda Track together. We have hiked Nepal. We have been competitors and teammates at the footy. We show up for each other on weekends because we want to, not because someone scheduled it. This is what work-life integration actually looks like. Not 50-hour weeks. But a life that is richer because of the people you spend it with.

When you bring Employ Health into your business, you are not engaging a service provider. You are bringing people who chose this — every single day.

THE DIFFERENCE IN ACTION

What this looks like in practice.

Sean Archer joined Employ Health as a new graduate. Today, he is a Partner Manager — one of the most trusted connectors in our business. In between, he has walked Kokoda, trekked Nepal, and built the kind of relationships that don’t appear on any job description.

Sean is not unusual here. He is typical.

This is what happens when you build a business around people who are genuinely all in.

OUR VALUES

How we show up

Marathon Runners

We don’t chase quick wins. We build relationships and deliver outcomes that are made to last — because the work that matters takes time.We don’t chase quick wins. We build relationships and deliver outcomes that are made to last — because the work that matters takes time.

Champions of Health

We don’t just talk about health. We live it — as individuals, as a team, and in every business we partner with. Health is not our job. It is our identity.

Game Changers

We challenge the reactive model every single day. If the industry accepts something as normal, we ask whether it should be. Then we do something about it.

Elite Performers

Good enough is not good enough. Every solution we deliver, every person we place, every relationship we build is held to the gold standard. No exceptions.

All for One

Team first. Always. The strength of our tribe is the reason our partners succeed. We win together, or we don’t win at all.

LEADERSHIP

The People Behind It

The culture of Employ Health isn’t accidental. It’s the result of leaders who have remained committed to the same vision from day one: building healthier workplaces by investing in people.

Matthew Stewart

Co-Founder & CEO

Matthew started Employ Health with a conversation and a conviction: that every workplace could be a hub for health. Fourteen years later, that conviction still runs the business — the culture, the standards, and every decision made inside it.

Ryan Tiernan

Director

Ryan joined Employ Health and has been central to building the business into what it is today — operationally strong, commercially sharp, and growing steadily across ANZ. He brings the kind of leadership that makes a movement sustainable.

Two Ways In
